I am stunned by the simple one-button effectiveness of ALON MP3
Dictaphone. It cuts directly to MP3, records calls as MP3 if you
want (sometimes without the beep in MP3, AMR and WAV). It plays
MP3, OGG, AAC, MP4, M4A, AMR and WAV. I hot buttom M3U playlists
with it but haven't used its bookmarks. I think I paid $25 for
it.
I'm experimenting with the ALON files saved to memory card and
then edited with SoundForge. ALON MP3 makes my E90 phone into a
pocket podcasting studio.
I am using Best Dictaphone. No issues..it is only difficult to
configure the activation button it the N82, because the app only
can accept one press activation. And N82 does not have the pencil
key.

I've got Ultimate Voice Recorder here. Quite useful and mostly unobtrusive (I've had a couple of memory issues).

have you tried the builtin Voice recorder?
I have not tired it myself for recording calls, but it will apparently do it.

@whatleydude: of if it's just an occaisional need use @danlane's magic-o-tron podcast recorder which does recording every which way.
